I havent updated my gallery in months. Its not that I havent gotten new things, I have just lost comfort here at RS. I never visit anymore, but just in case there were those of you who wondered what happened to me.

I've been hard at work in school. My collecting has nearly ceased. I don't look for any cels or sketches anymore except for Rukia ones but there hasnt been any since December on eBay...

I wont be updating much at all.

Hey I'm back for an update!

Its been a while since I last updated...several months to be exact....Doesnt mean I stopped buying.

I've been very busy in school and stuff, Now i'm finally on my winter break until January 8th!

So I took the time to scan a ton of stuff thats been wasting away in my books...

A lot of cool stuff too, several new series Black Cat, Deathnote, Gunslinger Girl, Fruits Basket(other stuff).

As well as some new stuff in fullmetal alchemist, Case Closed, and Giant Robo.

I had a lot of this stuff scanned already and then my computer died and all was lost...My heart was broken and when I finally got a computer again I didnt have the energy to scan it all again.

Having to reinstall all the drivers for the scanner. But I did get this interesting scanning program that came with the scanner.

It is really pretty cool! It scans a preview first and then it tells you what it is, then scans it.

Some side effects are that it crops it automatically which can be good and bad...It also made my sketches look a lot more ink like or photocopyish..

Still pretty cool. Noting feels so good as a job well done. And speaking of which...

I finished my semester at school. Straight A's!! best i've ever done ever! I am so getting a deans list certificate this year!

I've never been more confident now!

Another thing I did last month(November 18) is I went to L.A. Hollywood! by myself at night...to see a concert. But it wasnt just any concert it was Puffy AmiYumi live and in person.

Thankfully I wasnt robbed or anything(unless you count that cab driver who charged me more for the ride then the ticket to the concert!)But the concert was great and I got back safely. And with an autograph...hmm...I should have scanned that too....

Well now that i've got all that out of my system I got to put these cels and sketches back into their baggies and books ;_; and then maybe I can eat...

Hope you all enjoyed my few...long paragraphs about where i've been the past few months...SCHOOL

But now that its over i'm so bored...I miss school

Big fire make big smoke-equals bad air

Dont know how many of you are here in Cali or even close enough to know. But I heard there was a couple huge fires up in the forests today.

Some 100s of miles away from where i live. Well when i woke up this morning everything seemed fine. I walked out into the garage and smelled smoke. I looked around(nose plugged) and couldnt find anything. Figured it was the dryer or something...

Then when i went off to school it looked foggy...ooh that wasnt fog it was smoke. Then my dad enlightened me that there were two big fires blowing smoke into the valley and it was staying here.

And the fire department kept getting calls of possible fires. So they alerted everyone that it was smoke from the fires in the mountains via a new TV warning which i missed...

It was bad couldnt breathe very well walking from class to class but it seems to have dissapeared now...

So wondered if anyone else had this kind of experience today?

I know its been a while since i have blogged...practically all summer..Well I have done some recent updates in case you havent seen them yet.

From now on I have decided to focus my collecting on Rukia(bleach) sketches :D

So I am primarily going for that, doesnt mean i wont hesitate for something i really want.

Last semester I was in a video class and made a student film. A one man film, filmed by me, starring me, and everything else by me. It actually turned out surprisingly well. Everyone thought i did a good job with all the different angles.

Took me about an hour to film, we had a small number of cameras and I had very little time with one. But i think i got the job done, despite small errors and stuff.

I also composed the music(soundtrack on the mac)

The title of the movie is "Soda Machine"

And the first time ever being shown to those outside of the class is you guys reading!

Life is a wonderful thing

About 6+ years ago, I planted an apricot tree in my backyard. Sadly the first year it died.

I never dug it up. Years went by, and it never got one leaf.

Then..this year...I go outside(its hiding in a corner and isnt visible) and Theres a tree there.

Seemingly sprouted overnight. (must have been totoro!)

And so as the weeks went by it grew and grew. Now over 10 feet high. And it has fruit.

Well i watched it grow and grow. and then the fruit was ready.

Come to find out, it wasnt apricots on the tree.

It was plums.

There is a very old plum tree next it. And somehow that tree must have brought this one back to life.

The original apricot tree is melded with the new plum trees growing around it.

Creating a hybrid Apricot plum.

It just amazes me how a tree can bring another tree back to life.

Now its got cute little tyedye apricot plums. Orange and purple.


I just thought i would share with all of you how life can be renewed unexpectedly.

Grades are in....

I just looked up my grades for the semester.....

I got closer to straight A's i have ever had!

3 A's and 2 B's darn...

Either way i have a 3.6 GPA for that semester!!!

I'm so glad all that hard work wasnt wasted. like last semester where i miserably failed history........but lets not go into that..


That means i'm on the deans list and will get a certificate!

Now i just need to keep up these good grades...

Thats pretty much it....was excited and had to blog about it :D

Yesterday i spent a few hours converting my Douga into a cel. Believe it or not, its a lot eaiser making dougas into cels then screencaps and gengas...

I think it turned out great! Looks a whole lot better in person!

Secondly, thanks to the positive answers to my questions i cleared out my bank account and got me an ipod!

I havent put it down yet! I love it! Especially Podcasts, those are great. Like the one Ask a Ninja.

Well...i think thats about it....Oh Wait no! This week is finals week! Which shouldnt be too hard....I have to give a 2 piece performance on the piano. Have to show my short film.....and last but not least, have to write an essay...

Oh well, last week of school! cant wait!

Dubbed~The E True Hollywood Story(ranting like heck)

ok so this isnt a true hollywood story, this is me being pissed.

Someone i have been talking too. We would talk about lots of animes and stuff. Both had long talks. and then the discussion came up...

I told him i liked Dubs plain and simple. Though i still enjoy the japanese one as well.

This PERSON ignored me, blocked me from contacting them and whatever else they could.

It makes me so mad, that this person would do that.

Which brings back to that age old question. What is the problem with dubs?

I understand some dubs where they cut things out on tv and what not. But there seems to be all this hate for dubbed anime no matter what the quality.

Myself i would prefer to watch dubs. If it was up to me i wouldnt call it that. Maybe English Voice Version.

But there is no reason what so ever to hate dubs. I understand some people will say. When they have seen the japanese one its like they are replacing the character when they dub it.

They are not replacing the character. They are simply putting a new life into the character.

Most american anime companys now put a lot of work to keep everything the way it is.

I have watched Detective Conan and Case Closed side by side. The only difference is the names(which were in fact changed by the japanese company to better suit americans) and of course the title(legal matters with Conan the Barbarian, Late Night with Conan'o'Brian)

But other then that, the content is the same, there are some minor word changes, but the story is always in tact(except for one piece...good VA bad 4kids)

And i can say that for many animes i have seen. Because i like to watch both versions. Because seeing the character with 2 voices seems kind of fun.

Those people who say English Voice actors dont put feeling into the characters like the Japanese ones do. That is absurd.

I have seen plenty of anime where the English version matches the Japanese one in quality. Sometimes it even surpasses it.

I have gotten just as emotional in english version anime as i have for the Japanese one. But in my opinion, i would rather focus on the anime then subtitles.

i dont understand how some people can be so prejudice against their own language.

English voice actors(the ones i met anyways) seem to be some of the kindest people out there. They go through it all. The recording method is different here, but that just means the actors have to be 10 times better. When they are talking to a beeping sound they have to imagine whats happening and make it right. And from the animes i have seen they do a hell of a good job.

If you can put that much spirit into a silent room then you have to be an amazing actor.

And as for the people behind the dub. They work their butts off trying to keep everything as accurate as possible. Not only keeping it accurate but they also have to use words in their translated script to match the mouths of the characters.

They go through a lot of trouble just to get pissed on by a bunch of people who have no respect for the work they put into it.

I am not trying to put down either version.

I simply want to get the point across. That anime is still anime no matter what language it is in.

I hope i got my point accross. And i hope nobody here would ignore someone who likes English version anime better then Japanese version. Or the other way around.

Weather has been a little funny lately, so brought the dog inside the house. While i was out.....

He found my cel books and destroyed them, they are still cels but have no value. My sketches are gone. Just teethmarks and Rips.I only have a couple left, that were hung on the wall.


OOOOGHH THAT DOG!!! I'LL GET HIM!!!!!!

SEE IF I EVER LET HIM INSIDE THE HOUSE AGAIN! HE WILL BE LUCKY IF HE EVER EATS AGAIN!!!!!!!!

Hey everyone. Havent blogged in a week. Lets see, i got a Job at the IRS $10 an hour!!! i will finally be able to afford cels!

Only seasonal. But thats fine with me!

Second bit of news....Well you see i was really bored friday night. I borrowed a microphone. Really nice. It recorded very well. So i decided to record my songs i play on the piano. Then i went the next step, and sung to them. Then i went a step further and used the piano version of "a whole new world" and sung to it.

I got to into it.......So i thought i'd share my hours of work. Plus all of you wondering but my sexy voice sounds like *wink* mwahahaha

Collectible day

Today i went to the mall, cause i wanted to put my money in the bank. Sounds reasonable....

Turns out there was a collectible show today....

Well, i looked through and stumbled accross the japanese goodies table........

What caught my eye was Cels...not much choice, on Ninja Turtles. But i WUV NINJA TURTLES

So i got me one.......then the nice japanese man, showed me all the stuff.....

Posters $2 each thats it!!!!*buys bunch*

then "i will let you have these plushes half price"

Then "this Japanese Race horse plush.....*goes on explaining story* Very cheap easily worth $50 in Japan"

anyways....i spent a lot i shouldnt have and ended up only putting half of what i originally had into the bank........

As soon as i woke up i went straight to the doctor. No morning tea......or food.....to get blood drawn..

well i got there waited a few minutes. Then she called my name.....

I went into the room....she said "What a way to spend your birthday" and then she took out the needle..."HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!"

Though the needle was a little painful it went away pretty quick.....this tape bandade they put on me is worse.....*gnaws on bandade*

Truly a good birthday so far.....*waits for presents....*

Ok, first of all......

I scanned all 12 sketches and time sheet for my One Piece section...I split them up into about 4 separate items...

The last one is the ones i colored using gimp. I have to say it looks pretty nice(not zoomed in)

Secondly.......

I was flipping through the channels and i saw Case Closed on one....

Not surprising as there is a Japanese channel on here that plays it...however i dont get that channel...not to mention even if i did it would be in japanese....no subs

But it wasnt the japanese channel....so i changed it there...and sure enough it was playing in English(the way i like it)Maybe every day at 3:30pm YAY!!!!

It also plays Kodocha, and Galaxy Railways...but i dont really care for either...........

Hello Everyone again.....

Well this is important...to me anyway...Today is my one year Rubberslug anniversary.

I have been cel Collecting and been on rubberslug for an entire year today. And its been great.

I am looking forward to another new year of new cels.

Now time for me to go on about this year and all i have learned and accomplished.
S

Since last December i have started College, and have been through 2 semesters.

And believe it or not for Coincedences(dont correct spelling :p) today is the last day of the semester.

Been through so much in school and here on rubberslug.

This year i learned to play Piano. I am pretty good at it now, not the best but not the worst.

I also learned how to paint. Pretty well too.....

My cel collection has increased....a lot.....When i started last year i had 2 cels. one of those 2 was a freebie(still have both cels). Now it has increased to 25 cels(3 on their way)

And the hobby has greatly increased from sticking to Conan to everyhing i could get my hands on. Preferably favorites.

I have also expanded into sketches. and i mean besides the ones with the cels. too 5 sketch sets.

Hopefully those numbers will double or triple in 2007.


Also, i would like to say, i have made many friends this year. In school and here on rubberslug.

Well in 5 days i will have been here and collecting for 1 whole year. Can you believe that. And i have gotten so many more cels then i could have ever imagined.

and as the year concludes i have a ton of new stuff coming. 15 new cels and 1 new sketch set. That is a heck of a lot. (note most of these cels are of american cartoons/commercials)

however 6 of those cels are going as christmas presents to my family.

But i still got lots. Believe me, most of these cels i got really good deals on.


and the final news. after this week i am done with school til the 8th of january yay! So much free time.....probably by the mailbox waiting....
So keep a look out for a major update. Hopefully they will come soon......

The big thing is, i am now in my second year of college in january. Which means......I am now officially a Sophmore, no more freshman, i am a college man now. wooohooo!!!

Ok well i guess you are wondering what this is about?

Well some of you might know...some maybe not.

I have been learning piano for almost a year now. So i decided i would play some of my best songs and video them. So i did just that.

However, please forgive the quality...I took the video with my cel phone...

And also, i know i made *cough* a few mistakes. But thats only because i get nervous when someone is watching...I can play it perfectly in the quietness of myself. But when it comes time to perform my mind goes blank...

Thanksgiving Turkey-Cake

I was making a cake earlier, sugarflower asked me to take a picture. So i thought i would publicize it.

I know turkeys arent bluish green(or teal yuri-chan)

But the frosting turned that color instead of brown...I have no idea why, i tested it before using it on the whole batch, and it turned a nice brown...but then i did it on this and boom i have an aqua turkey cake.....

I know turkeys dont have sprinkles on them(except maybe sprinkles of seasoning at the dinner table hehe)

What do all of you think?

The Difference Between Cats and Dogs

Ok, this may be a little lame. But our teacher told us the difference between cats and dogs perspectives of their owners. Astronomy Teacher, go figure....

First a dogs perspective: This person, they pet me and make me feel good. They feed me all these delicious foods. They take me out, play with me. They give me toys to play with and forgive me when i do something wrong. You know what that means, they must be god.(sorry for religious offence in anyway, i am telling it as he did last night)

Cats Perspective: This person, they pet me, the hug me, the feed me the food i want. They give me a warm bed. They clean up my litter box. They give me toys to play with. If i break one i get another. You know what this means....I must be God

Well i thought it was funny, and wanted to share. Sounds so true too doesnt it. lol

Christmas Cards

Hi everyone. With the help of Yuri-Chan i realized i send out 2 christmas cards every year. One to a friend in New York, and another in South Korea.

So i buy a pack of Christas Cards and have 20 or so left.

Well in my almost full year of cel collecting(year in december) I have met so many great people here. I am glad to know all of you. And i dont plan on leaving rubberslug anytime soon.

Hey New Paintings

Anyways, i would love to hear your feedback on them.

My latest is the Golden Gate Bridge, i made it kind of Comic Book style, with different boxes. Its a mix of reality and nonreality in different boxes.

Just remember it isnt complete yet, still have some things to finish on it. But thought i would put it up anyhow.

Since i now have four original pieces i decided to give myself a category all its own(I only own 3 of the 4)(The sunset i gave to my grandma)

Anyone know about Giant Robo the animation?

For some reason lately i have been wandering into looking up Giant Robo.

I dont know much of anything about it. I think i have seen one episode and it kind of got me wondering about it.

Then i found out there were cels...Now i have to see it, and try to get a cel from it...

It looks pretty interesting, if anyone can tell me that its interesting and all i may go and check it out. But i wanted to get an opinion first?

The character i'm interested in is Daisaku. Whom interestingly enough is hard to find out anything about. I googled it, nothing. Not even Wikipedia says anything. Isnt he like one of the main characters?

Either way, i like the style Daisaku is made, i dont know why...I'm also finding cels of him hard to find...I bet they are expensive too...Well enough of my ranting...

Another new Fan Cel

I had to try and turn my favorite Demon Huntress sketch into a cel. Since i will probably never get a real one.

So until that magical day when i do get one...I will have this homeade one based on the sketch i purchased. I think i did a better job this time. Looks really nice.

Just a note, some reason my camera made it darker than what it really is, so you cant really distinguish the lighter colors on her arms and chest where the light is on.

Tell me what you think? Am i getting better?

I cant wait. I love Pelco!!!(My moms workplace). Thanks to their good deals i get to go to disneyland. Next Sunday. Its going to be killing me til then. But i already got everything planned. Its going to be fun. Just me and my dad.(Some reason little bro and sis dont want to go)

After some research i found out they have cel galleries and shops in disneyland. I have to visit them, maybe if its not to much buy a cel. Last time i went i didnt know what cels were so i probably walked right past and didnt know.

Not this time, i am going to drag my dad to all the galleries and shops. Oh and the studio where they show you how they are made. I cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I made a Fan Cel today. Just for the fun of it, i used one of my Naruto Sketches, scanned it and cleaned it up. Then put it on some transparent paper and painted it. Its a little funny looking. But i like how it turned out.(Was the first time)

I am trying to figure out what episodes my cels are from. Some I know but most i havent got a clue.

It would be helpful if you knew a lot about detective Conan. I would really like to find out the episodes they are from.

Also my one and only big o cel needs to be found too.

I would greatly appreciate any help i can get with identifying any cel/drawing(NARUTO) that i am unsure of. Which pretty much narrows it down to all.

I will put ID'd on the ones i have found. If you like i will put your name in the info section about the cel you helped me find.

Yeah i just went frame by frame on my Knight Baron Case closed dvd and i found my cel!!! I also found out that my cel shouldnt be 3 people because the two are at different times. a few seconds. But if you have that dvd and want to know. It is when they are getting onto an elevator in The Knight baron Mystery part 2. And does anybody know of a program of which i can take a photo of this shot.thanks.

It is 2 layers but they are stuck together so i dont even want to try and separate them. If i ever get better pictures i will put them on as well as the sketches. So long for now
